**The Artists

We are sisters, Jersey Girls, Karen and Donna.  Karen, now living in Florida, learned to torch lampwork beads and we began to create beautiful bracelets for ourselves.  It occurred to us that others might enjoy our unique handiwork, so KanDoBeads was born.  New beads and styles of bracelets are being created all the time.  We hope you find something you like on the following pages.  Thanks for looking!!

**Making the Beads

Each bead is made one at a time. The process is called torching or lampwork. Torching, using a 2 gas flame (O2 and Propane) is an old art. Colored glass rods are melted around a mandrel (metal rod). Each design, or color change is another bit of glass added to the first color.

After being cooled slowly, the beads are annealed, a process of Kiln heating for strength, then cooled again. They are then hand cleaned and ready to be made into jewelry.

**Making the Jewelry

We only use Sterling Silver findings and beads. Swarovski crystals and vintage beads are used for accent. Each piece, like the beads, are made one at a time, and are one of a kind. We try to create each unique bracelet to complement the lampwork beads and bring out the beauty of the glass.

We are "can do" kind of girls but our name "KanDo Beads" is a combination of "Karen and Donna" Beads. We both have daughters, Karly and Kari who can easily join in if we should get real big!!! What better way than to spend time with family, creating pieces of jewelry that are as unique and different as we are!
